Refund & Cancellation Policy
MyHobbies is a digital subscription product. This policy explains how to cancel, when refunds apply, and how long they take. You can try before you pay — and cancel any time. Gift purchases are the one exception: they are final once paid, and the codes we issue now have a date to be redeemed by. Section 05 sets out exactly what that means.

A digital subscription product
MyHobbies subscriptions provide access to digital software and your collection workspace, including the Philately module. Because there are no physical goods, “refund” here means a refund of a subscription payment — see the eligibility rules below — or of a gift purchase, which has its own rule in section 05.
Free plan & trial — try before you pay
You don't have to pay to evaluate MyHobbies. Every account includes a free plan, and new accounts can try the full feature set free for a limited trial period with no credit card required. We recommend using the trial to make sure MyHobbies is right for you before subscribing.
How to cancel
You can cancel a paid subscription at any time:
- Cancel from your account, or email support and we'll cancel it for you.
- After cancellation you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- When the period ends, your account reverts to the free plan — your collection data is preserved, not deleted.
Refund eligibility
We want you to be happy with MyHobbies. Refund requests are reviewed fairly and on a case-by-case basis. Refunds are generally considered when:
- You were charged in error or billed more than once for the same period.
- A technical fault on our side prevented you from using a paid plan and we couldn't resolve it.
- You request a refund shortly after a charge and have made little or no use of the paid features.
Refunds are generally not provided when:
- A billing period has been substantially used.
- The request relates only to forgetting to cancel before an expected renewal, beyond a reasonable window.
- Access was suspended or terminated for a violation of our terms (see below).
Gift purchases are final
Everything above is about a subscription on your own account. A gift is different: a one-time purchase of a code that gives a paid plan to someone else. This is the one place where this policy departs from the case-by-case approach in refund eligibility above.
A gift purchase is final once your payment is confirmed and the code is issued. That is when the sale completes — not when the code is delivered, shared, or redeemed. We don't refund a gift on request after that: not if you change your mind, not if you picked the wrong term, and not if the recipient decides not to use it. The “shortly after a charge, with little or no use” case above does not apply to a gift, and a gift is not refundable merely because the code hasn't been redeemed yet. This rule is also shown on the gift page, where it has to be acknowledged before payment can start.
A gift code has a deadline. Every code we issue now must be redeemed within 365 days of the day it is issued. The clock starts when the code is issued — not when it is delivered, shared, or paid for — and every code carries its own date, shown on your receipt and beside the code in your gift list. A code that reaches its deadline unredeemed stops working, and lapsing is not grounds for a refund — the purchase is final in exactly the way set out above. Redemption settles it the other way: once a code has been redeemed the months belong to that account, and nothing is taken back from it.
The reason is that a gift moves value to someone else. A code can be redeemed the moment it exists, so we can't treat “still unused” as a state that will hold; and once it is redeemed the months sit on another person's account — someone who didn't pay us and whom we can't bill. Undoing the sale would take something away from them rather than from you, whereas a subscription refund only ever affects the person who paid. Because a gift can't be unwound the way a subscription can, please be sure before you buy: the free plan and trial let you see exactly what you're giving, at no cost.
What this rule does not take away:
- Starting a gift checkout isn't a purchase. Closing the payment window without paying doesn't charge you, and an unfinished order is discarded on its own after 48 hours. If a payment did go through, the code appears in your gift list and your receipt within a few minutes.
- If you were charged in error, or charged more than once for the same gift, the eligibility rules above still apply — that's a payment going wrong, not a change of mind.
- If a code never reaches the recipient, doesn't work, or fails through a fault on our side, that's ours to put right. Tell us and we'll issue a replacement code with a fresh deadline, or return the amount actually paid if we can't.
- There's nothing to cancel on a gift: it is a one-time purchase, it never renews, and it will not bill you again.
If a gift went to the wrong person, or you need a code stopped, tell us as soon as you can. While a code is unredeemed we can void it so that it can't be used — though voiding a code ends the gift and doesn't on its own return the payment. A code can also end on its own, by reaching its deadline unredeemed; the effect is the same as a void, and it is not a refund either. Once a code has been redeemed we can't void it, because the months have already been granted to that account. Where we do return a gift payment we normally void the code first, so this is straightforward while a code is unredeemed; if it has already been redeemed we'll work out the right outcome with you.
Nothing in this section limits rights you have that cannot be waived, and where the law requires a refund we will provide one. Your bank or the payment provider can also reverse a payment on their own initiative — that process belongs to them and this policy doesn't override it. If that happens, or where a gift was paid for fraudulently, we may void any code from that purchase that hasn't been redeemed and take further action under our Terms & Conditions. If something has gone wrong with a gift, please email support@myhobbies.in with the order reference and the gift code before opening a dispute — it is usually faster, and we would much rather put it right with you.
Refund processing time
Once a refund is approved, it is processed back to your original payment method. Please allow approximately 5–7 business days for it to appear, depending on your bank or payment provider. Purchases made under a promotional or launch price are refunded at the amount actually paid. [Refund processing timeline to be confirmed before launch.]
No refund for misuse or violation
Refunds are not available where an account is suspended or terminated for breaching our Terms & Conditions — for example, unlawful use, abuse of the platform, or attempting to access systems or accounts without authorisation.
Contact for billing & refunds
To cancel, ask about a charge, or request a refund, email support@myhobbies.in from the address on your account (include any order or invoice reference) or use the contact page. We aim to acknowledge billing requests quickly.
